On behalf of Bellprat Associates AG the Digital Archaeology is creating reconstructions of six everyday life scenes at the Roman Archaeological Park of Vindonissa (Windisch), Swizzerland.
Bellprat Associates, located at Winterthur, Swizzerland, is an internationally active company specializing in the conception, design and construction of exhibitions, trade fair stands, scenic worlds and events.
Based on the finding of an highly preservated roman kitchen at an officers house the Digital Archaeology creates 3D-reconstructions of everyday life scenes like welcoming the guests, festivity at the officers´ house, kitchenwork, storing an preserving the food, Legionaires disporting at the Taberna, staff handling the leavings of the festivity.
These 3D-Reconstructions will communicate an impressive view on the roman life at Vindonissa to the exibition visitors.
About 100 years after christ three roman Legions were based consecutively at Vindonissa. From these days impressive roman buildings are descening, some of them partly obtained and supplementarily reconstruted like the amphitheater.
The rare finding, as the newly discovered kitchen with its outstanding mediterrean style of course is, will be made public by the roman-park-project and illustrated by these 3D-reconstructions.
Because of the close spacial distance to the scene-content of the images an highly detailed quality is needed. Furthermore there will be images of real people integrated to the virtual scenes. The challenge is to keep the authenticity of the images even when viewed with stereoscopic devices.
